Apply for individual membership

Joining Health Coalition Aotearoa makes you part of the growing community of public health professionals, community leaders and NGOs in Aotearoa reducing harm from preventable disease. By joining as a member, you can add your voice to calls for health equity and evidence-based action on tobacco, alcohol and unhealthy food, as well as stronger public health infrastructure.

Members receive HCA emails and reports, can attend member-only events, contribute to HCA submissions and campaigns and attend and vote at our AGM.

We have a progressive structure for membership fees, based on individual annual income. Note that this page is only used to apply for paid individual memberships for those with individual income over $30,000 a year. If your income is under this and you wish to apply for free membership you must use the free individual membership page instead.

As we have kept membership fees as accessible and low as possible, we appreciate members contributing a voluntary donation upon joining or renewing their membership, to protect our independent voice for public health.

Membership fees are due in April each year and run to the 31st of March. To keep things simple, partial year memberships are not pro-rata. Similarly, we prefer members applying and paying online on the form below wherever possible to reduce administration and accounting.

If you are unable to pay online and require an invoice for direct bank transfer, please complete the free membership application form and email info@healthcoalition.org.nz for generation of an invoice, noting your annual income and any donation amount. Your membership application will not be complete until payment is received.

Individual membership

Individual membership is open to those who are joining as members of the public and are not considered as representatives of organisations they belong to or work for. Applicants must declare any commercial conflicts of interest.
