Massey University SHORE & Whariki Research Centre
I have worked in public health and the social service sector in Aotearoa for 15 years. Since 2011 I have been involved in alcohol policy research with Massey University’s SHORE & Whariki Research Centre, where I provide national coordination support to the Community Action on Youth and Drugs programme, funded by Te Whatu Ora.
My research has focused on the alcohol environment in Aotearoa, the impacts of alcohol in residential neighbourhoods and community involvement in alcohol licensing decisions. I have a keen interest in the influence of both the public and commercial determinants in health policy development, and translating findings to support community action.
My background is in organisational psychology and human resources consultancy which followed the completion of my MSc in Applied Psychology at the University of Canterbury.
